Ireland.  Lurgan Union Farming Society 1846 Silver Award Medal.  A 43 mm silver award medal by J.C. Parkes, farm animals standing outside a house, trees above and farm workers baling hay in left background.  Rev. named "To Charles Douglass Esq, Grace Hall, Septr. 1846, for Heifer".  cf. Spencer 1185 for obv.   Charles Douglass, JP, of Grace Hall, Magheralin, was Deputy Lieutenant for Co. Down, and a direct descendant of Thomas Douglass, chaplain to Charles I.  Very Fine and pierced  w/ring for suspension.  Any tokens or award medals from Lurgan are Very Rare.
