S.6549; DF 308, Ormonde 6 Pence, 2.83 g., 22 mm cut round.  Obv. Crown above C and R, for Charles Rex, all devices clear of the medium line circle about, except the long curled tail of the R.

Rx. A Large D atop a 7.0 mm high Roman VI, the D equidistant bet the top of the VI and medium line circle.  Only the upper left seraph of the VI touches the circle.

The Spink Catalogue is a bit abbreviated for the Irish Ormonde series.  Anthony Dowle and Patrick Finn's The Guide Book to the Coinage of Ireland, 1969, lists 3 varieties for the Ormonde 6 pence, requisite weight 46 grains, none w rev pellets...

DF 300 C.R rev D/VI small letters
DF 301 C.R rev D/VI large letters
DF 302 C R no pellet bet C and R

The present piece has no pellet, and is DF 302, but the D is larger than usually seen on other coins of this DF die.

Very Fine.  Piece shows even light wear, showing some details of the tops of the letter.  Though the inner circle is complete on the obv, and near complete on the rev.  All central devices are well defined.  The outer toothed border is about half complete both sides.  A well centered strike on a good sterling flattened plate flan cut round.  Even old gray tone.  $900.
