Additional Details
A St. Patrick Farthing, 4.75 g., w a halo or Nimbus around St. Patrick's head.

Syd Martin lists two reverses that each qualify for the Nimbus variety, w a halo about the Saint's head.  Martin further notes each Nimbus reverse w 2 distinct obverse dies, thus Martin lists 4 Nimbus die pairings.

This piece is an exact die match for Martin 4b.2-Aa.1, w the snake's head in line w the left side of the Q, and right of the baseline, and the heavy die break over the S C, and other unique features to this die.

A rare variety listed in the Red Book w values of $2500 in VG, $7K in Fine.  This piece might easily be overlooked as the sought after Nimbus variety, were it not for Syd Martin's definitive die study.  Once the die is located, it's, "Oh yes.  This is the Nimbus variety."
