Henry III, 1216 - 1273.  A silver penny, S.6243, 1.46 g.18 mm, moneyer Ricard.  Dublin mint, issued between autumn 1251 and Jan 1254.  Late coarse work, c. 1253.  Three curls to either side of head instead of two.  Rx legend reading around, RIC / RD / OND / IVE. 

RICARD and DAVI appear on the coins.  Richard Bonaventure and David of Enfield worked in London and are believed to have sent their dies to Dublin for these coins. 

Very Fine w some grey tone, reverse better.  All legends well struck.  A scarcer variety$400.
