UK Birmingham Union Copper Company Heavy Clasped Hands 1812 Copper Penny Token.  28.96 g.; 36 mm.; edge centre grained left \\\\\; coin orientation.  Withers 319; Davis 71.  * UNION COPPER COMPANY * BIRMINGHAM around single line circle enclosing clasped hands, a line of pellets above, date 1812 below.  The inner and outer pellets either side of the ornament are similar in size.  Medium sized edge beads.  There is a pellet like flaw on the first limb of N of COMPANY.  Rx. PAYABLE IN CASH NOTES ..*.. around single line circle enclosing ONE / PENNY / TOKEN.  Top of PENNY lines to the centre of B and the last limb of N in NOTES.  The C of CASH is above the last limb of N in ONE.  High T in TOKEN.

Extremely Fine
w even dark brown surfaces, rim bump to rev only at 5:30.  An unusually heavy flan. Rare.  $150.
