Edward IV, 1461 - 1483.  The Light Cross and Pellets coinage of 1472 to c.1478.

S.6341A (old 2003 Spink Cat No. 6339A); DF 134, 1.94 g., 24 mm.  A 4 Penny Silver Groat of Drogheda, having no marks other than a G, for mintmaster Germyn Lynch, on the King's breast. 

Crowned facing bust within tressure of 9 arcs.  Legend around reads EDWARDV[S DEI] GRA [DNS] HIBER.  Rx long cross w/3 pellets in the 2nd and 3rd angles and two pellets and a  cinquefoil in the 1st and 4th quadrants.  Legends around read DE/DROG/hEDA in middle band, and POSVI/DEVMA/DIVTORE/MEVM (Psm. 54:4 I have made the Lord mine helper, in the outer band. 

All branch mint Irish groats are rare.  

Good Very Fine.  Weight reflective of minor clipping.  Sharply struck with little wear. Original old toned surfaces.  $1800.
